What is Triple Link?

Triple Link is a daily word association puzzle built around a single shared answer. You are shown three clue words or phrases. Your job is to find one word that forms a familiar expression with all three.

One clue may suggest the answer quickly, but the other two have to confirm it. The best route is often to think broadly, test a candidate against every clue, and only then spend a guess.

How to play Triple Link

  1. Read all three clues before guessing.
  2. Think of a word that can pair naturally with the first clue.
  3. Check whether the same word also forms familiar phrases or compounds with the other two clues.
  4. Submit your answer. You have three guesses total.
  5. If you miss all three, the completed links are revealed.
SIMPLE EXAMPLE

FALL · COAT · BOW

The linking word is RAIN: rainfall, raincoat, and rainbow. One word creates three familiar expressions, which is exactly what you are looking for in Triple Link.

Triple Link strategy

Look first for clues that commonly appear in two-word phrases. If one clue has several obvious partners, use the other two to narrow them. Try both directions in your head: the linking word may come before a clue in one expression and after another clue in a different expression.

Do not force a technically possible phrase. The intended links should feel recognizable once you see them. If one connection sounds awkward, keep looking.

Why three clues?

Two clues can leave too many possible answers. A third clue acts as the check. It turns a loose word-association exercise into a compact logic puzzle where the answer has to satisfy three separate relationships at once.

A new connection puzzle every morning

Triple Link is one of Clue Morning’s seven free daily games. Everyone receives the same three-clue puzzle for the day, so the answer and number of guesses are directly comparable.

Does the linking word have to come after every clue?

No. The linking word can appear before or after a clue as long as each completed phrase or compound is a familiar expression.

How many guesses do I get?

You get three guesses to find the linking word.

What happens if I miss all three?

The correct answer and the three completed links are revealed.

Is Triple Link free?

Yes. The daily puzzle is free to play directly in your browser.
