What is Deep Cut?
Deep Cut is a daily trivia game built around rarity instead of simple right-or-wrong scoring. Each round gives you an open-answer prompt and asks for one valid response. A familiar answer still earns points, but a less-obvious accepted answer can score much more.
That means the challenge is not only knowing an answer. It is deciding how far you can reach without wasting the clock.
How to play Deep Cut
- Read the prompt and think of any answer that fits the category.
- You have 25 seconds to land one valid answer.
- Invalid guesses do not end the prompt. Keep trying until you find a valid answer or time expires.
- Accepted answers score from 30 to 100 points: 30–59 descends one floor, 60–84 descends two, and 85–100 descends three.
- Complete all eight prompts for your daily Deep Cut score.

Deep Cut strategy
The safest move is to secure a valid answer quickly. If a rarer answer comes to mind immediately, use it. If not, do not burn the entire timer chasing perfection. A common valid response is always better than timing out with nothing.
Broad categories reward strong recall. Narrow categories reward precision. Over several prompts, the best scores usually come from balancing confidence, speed, and originality.
How rarity scoring works
Clue Morning maintains an editorial ordering of accepted answers for each closed category. That lets every player receive a stable score immediately, even when only a small number of people have played that day. Accepted-answer lists can be expanded and refined as the game grows.
